Treatment train designer
pre-releaseA laboratory certificate in, a treatment train out. The designer is in pre-release and will be available only to DWT's wholesale and engineering customers. Ask your branch for an access code.
What it does
- Scores every determinand on the certificate against SANS 241, with the dual aesthetic and health limits where the standard carries both
- Builds the treatment train in the order the chemistry dictates: oxidation before filtration, iron removal before resin, dechlorination before any membrane
- Injects prerequisites (a pH raise before iron or manganese oxidation) and flags steps that stay blocked until they are met
- Catches interferences and by-products: tannin-bound iron, sodium added by softening, hardness added by calcite, aggressive RO permeate
- Sizes each step off the design flow when the branch quotes it: vessel and valve from DWT's FlowShell and Runxin data, softener resin volume, RO elements and recovery, chemical feeds, carbon contact volume, UV duty
- Predicts the finished water and re-checks the whole panel, so anything the treatment itself breaks is shown as induced
- Computes the Langelier index at supply temperature and at 60 °C, and the SAR for irrigation
- States the GN 665 of 2013 disposal route for RO reject, softener brine and filter backwash
- Checks the certificate itself: unit slips, dissolved above total, hardness that does not match its calcium and magnesium, ion balance
- Scores irrigation and livestock water against the DWAF guidelines rather than the drinking-water standard
- Links every step to the relevant DWT range, calculators and knowledge base, and hands the design to a quote request in one click
Results are indicative engineering estimates, not a design service: the branch sizes and confirms every selection against the full certificate and manufacturer data before anything is quoted. Trade customers with a DWT access code see the sizing and bill of materials live.
